On this uneventful Tuesday, the 5th of November 2024, I have decided to shock the world by making a long anticipated announcement. Yes, the time has finally come - the time to formally announce my new website, sebastiansela.se!
Neocities has been good to me – finally launching a site of my own, my own proper space online - but I’ve felt limited in what I’m able to do with it. With the new website I’m working with a backend I’m more comfortable with, one I hope will facilitate further updates and content. One thing in particular I guarantee will improve over this site it the quality of the styling. Just the workflow I have for the new site makes updating it a much smoother experience, which improves the end result IMO. Comfort brings performance, or something like that.
The new site has technically been online since the end of September with this page having links to it in the header since the start of October, but I only just got done adding the Blog which I consider the main feature of this website as of now. All blogposts available on this site has been migrated over to the new site, sans ones specifically about this Neocities page. As of writing, Mattips and the Color Palette Generator haven’t been made available on the new site but I’ll be looking at adding them in the future. I’ll of course be looking into adding other features and tools, mayhaps even host some of my games! Keep in mind that it’s still a work in progress, but I hope it won’t deter you from visiting.

Where does that leave my Neocities page? I’ll be leaving it as is indefinitely. I have been thinking of changing the way the blog works so that it gets the posts from the new site and displays them here. Less likely, but I’ve also thought of completely converting the site to look more like your typical Neocities page. I don’t know how to properly describe them, but the ones that look like 2000’s web game hosting websites. In any case, don’t expect a lot from this page from now on. For any new blogposts, such as the newly released analysis on Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's asset re-use, please visit the new site's blog.
Before I end this post: As of writing, this page has amassed nearly 50 000 views since it launched around 2.5 years ago! I would’ve never thought it’d get so many, even if all the views were to come from me working on the page. No matter what, I want to thank everyone for visiting this page, whether you’ve read all my posts or only stopped by once. Hope you’ll come along to the new site!
